Mission Statement
The University of Wisconsin Stout Ski and Snowboard Club is a social club at Stout which is open to all students on campus who have an interest in skiing and snowboarding. It is our goal to make skiing and snowboarding affordable and make it easy to travel to a variety of hills in the Midwest.

Brief History
The Stout Ski and Snowboard Club was started by a group of skiing fanatics. Originally called the Stout Alpine team, the Club had a strong emphasis on Downhill racing. At this time the club was affiliated with the United States Colligate Ski association and competed against other colleges in the Lake Superior Division. Some of the events which the club participated in were the slalom and the giant slalom events. As the club recruited more members there became less of a demand to compete in downhill ski and snowboard events and rather just enjoy skiing and snowboarding in a less competitive environment. Today the ski and snowboard club does not compete in skiing and snowboarding events, but plans weekend trips to hills in the Midwest area. With the club having more than 50 members today, joining the Stout Ski and Snowboard Club is a great way to meet new people who are passionate about skiing and snowboarding.

Who are we?
The Stout Ski and Snowboard Club is made up of both skiers and snowboarders of all levels who desire to ski and snowboard as much as they can! We have an even mix of both Males and Females and encourage new members to join even if they have low experience levels. Joining the Club is a great way to enhance your skills on the hill!

What do we do?
All of the Ski trips which the club does are planned in advance and almost completely paid for by club membership dues. These trips are held on weekends where skiing will take place on Saturdays. The majority of the trips planned involve the club meeting to leave for a trip on a Friday afternoon traveling to the ski town that night, spending the night in a hotel for Friday and Saturday, skiing the whole day Saturday, and arriving back to campus Sunday evening. Depending on the location of the ski hill the club may also do day trips where the club will travel back to campus after a day of skiing. In addition to the main trips planned the club will be holding its first trip out west to Whitefish Montana over Winter break. This trip will be open to both club members and non club members. Check out the Whitefish Montana Trip for more details.

Along with our Ski events, the club plans regular weekly meetings and fun social events on campus! At the weekly meetings the club organizes trip plans and makes club decisions. Our social events vary from waxing nights, to bowling in the MSC, to skiing and snowboarding at local hills around campus.
